English 101

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Dec. 8

I have posted a checklist of instructions for you, to make sure you understand what all you need to do to finish off this term. The checklist is at http://www.englishcomp.homestead.com/endofterm.html

Dec. 2

1.  The peer review guide is avalable at

http:www.englishcomp.homestead.com/peerreview.html

Nov. 30

1.  You must bring a rough draft of Essay #5 to class on Friday for peer review.

2.  The essay your final will be based on, "Got No Time for You," is now available on the documents page, as are the prompts that you will choose your topic from. Please print off the essay and the prompts so that we can begin discussing the final in class on Friday. You might also want to look at my essay "Slow Down--You're Moving Too Fast!" because it is on a closely related topic, so it might give you some ideas for things to use to develop your own essay for the final.

3. The final exam schedule is available for all 4 of my courses. You may attend ANY of my 4 exam times, and you do not need to notify me in advance.

This is the homepage for the site I have put up to communicate with my English 101 students this semester, since my current Blackboard site for this class will not show any changes I make or allow me to send group emails to students in my class.  I keep hoping that IDS will be able to fix that glitch on my 101 Bb site, but until they do, this page will be the page you check regularly for announcements and documents for our class.

The following link will take you to a list of all new documents that I put up for you to read and/or print off for class.

Please be sure to print off (and READ in advance) the two student sample essays that are listed as the first two items on the documents list page. For your convenience, here are direct links to them:: "Sports Injuries" and "ACL Injuries."
